Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
Gloves off special?

Apparently they don't like each other?

Not even 30 full length fights between them?

PPV?

I like Johnson a lot. He's potentially one to go all the way but fuck me they are overplaying this a bit aren't they?

Hope it doesn't blow up in his face...

Anyone catch luis ortiz v Bryant Jennings fight.

Ortiz had been flued up all week and still KOd Jennings with a vicious uppercut in the 7th.

As I said before Ortiz will be the next undisputed world champion.........and Joshua will never ever beat him.

No, he's a rugby (Union/league/sevens) hybrid who has boxed.

Still, technically yes he has boxed professionally, but nobody considers him a professional boxer.

NOBODY.

Don't know what you've read, but I've not seen anyone say there's a current rivalry between the two. There probably will be though, if they both keep progressing.

Joshua will know who Parker is already.

Maybe we should ask some former boxers what they think of Parker?

Like Evander Holyfield.

Oh, he has been asked.

SBW is a boxer as he has had PROFESSIONAL boxing fights.

Idiot

Yeah he lost to Barrett. Of course, Barrett did fail a drugs test after that fight, bit of course, boxing being boxing, the result stood.

Always dangerous to say one boxer is better than another because so and so beat so and so who someone else lost to etc.

You could probably make a case for Mark Noble being heavyweight champion if you go down that route.

Why would there be ANY sort of correlation between rugby players and boxers?

Parker and SBW won't ever fight. SBW isn't a boxer, so I'm not even sure why people bring him up.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
have to say I'd never heard of Parker either

yet hen did a quick google the NZ press seem to have him and Joshua as havig some kind of rivalry

I think someone should inform Joshua as he's never mentioned it nor has any other paper over here

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
Hahaha who's mentioning TUA?

He got beat by monte barrett didn't he?

The same Barrett that got smashed by Ortiz.......all be it Barrett was a fair bit older.

Ortiz will be the next undisputed heavyweight champion.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
I find it quite ironic that with all those big tough rugby players NZ they have produced no heavyweight boxers that are any good. Parkers ok and would knock out Sonny Bill which would end his rugby career so that fight will never happen but Joshua knocks out Parker every day of the week.

I hope he is the real deal though as it will be good for boxing to have a lot of contenders

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
im sure the scots thought the same about Cornish, it doesn't work like that. I had never heard of this bloke till you mentioned him, and in all the clips he is swinging with no protection, there isn't one person where he is scared of anything coming back, do you think he would fight like that against anyone good? Joshua has carried on doing it against British level fighters which is a lot better than New Zealand level. How many world champions have they had in comparison to us?

Not everyone in the world has heard of Muhammad Ali, or Michael Jordan, or Pele.

So, what's your point?

Son of Anarchy 10:23 Wed Dec 16
Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
you mentioned famous, being heard of and famous are two different things.

I'm a boxing fan, I've heard of Tua. Is he a house hold name? no

Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
Who mentioned great?

You mentioned famous.

One guy who could be a bit of a wildcard is Izu Ugonoh, a Polish Nigerian, who has got massive power. He's part of the same team as Parker and trained by Barry, and while he might not make the top echelon, he'd be more than capable of tripping up some people wanting to get there.

Tua?

hmmmm....good but not great.

I was talking to David Tua last night.

He's reasonably famous in boxing circles, and very short.

there are no famous new zealand boxers LomARSE

we do have some good young boxers coming through actually, but you won't have heard of them, because you only know famous ones.

new zealand...boxing hot bed lol

East Auckland Hammer 9:56 Wed Dec 16
Re: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte
And Whyte could beat Joshua if they fought again. At the moment, it's all swings and roundabouts, but I agree Parker needs to fight some tougher opponents.

He is only 23 though, and probably the most active heavyweight around at the moment, so that time will come.
